DREAMCRAFT MISSION STATEMENT

Dreamcraft's motto has always been to "Build Your Dreams", and the future of Dreamcraft will be no different. The Dreamcraft minecraft server has been alive for almost four years(at the time of this writing) because of the amazing community that she has fostered. As the game changes and people come and go, Dreamcraft will continue to improve as a community-fueled and unique experience. To that effect, our goals are the following:

1) Every action made is to improve the community and the server.
2) Promote a friendly environment through knowledgeable and helpful staff and members.
3) Promote cooperation through events and various plugins, such as towns.
4) Provide complete and unique experiences for all types of members.
5) Reward players who seek to improve the Dreamcraft experience.
6) Maintain a professional and organized atmosphere when administrating, moderating, and providing assistance.
7) Be transparent and open with the community, everyone here is part of the experience.
8) Listen to the community; everyone has a voice, and those that speak up *will* be heard.
9) Respect everyone and give everyone an equal chance.
10) Deal with negative and hateful behavior swifty; this is not the place for prejudices or grudges.
11) Always provide more and rarely, if ever, deny.
12) Have fun! Gaming is to loosen up and enjoy yourself.

Every member of this community leaves their mark on Dreamcraft. You make a difference.
What will your mark be?...

Build Your Dreams. Be the difference.

Mini-Update 2/26/2014: Jobs and Towny Price Changes
Posted by: Lostuser - 02-26-2014, 12:42 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Price updates to balance the economy out a bit more.

JOBS
-Title:level is now as follows...Novice:0, Apprentice:20, Journeyman:40, Expert:60, Master:90
-Payouts for break/placement even each other out
-Many methods of making money are unaccounted for(for example, Weaponsmiths only make REM from crafting ___ swords). Limited classes such as weaponsmith will be expanded upon shortly to make them viable

TOWNY
-Start a new town: 20,000 REM (down from 30k)
-Claim land for town(one adjacent chunk): 2,000 REM (the same)
-Nation: 250,000 REM (down from 500k)

==============================================================================

TL;DR of the additional notes: Having conflicting job classes such as miner and builder is not recommended, and if players attempt to exploit the classes using a friend then all involved will experience unfortunate consequences.

==============================================================================

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
A small expansion on the JOBS changes, with a little example. If a class earns money breaking a specific block, that class also loses the same amount of money from placing that block as well(and vice versa).

An example is the miner, who earns money and exp for breaking stone blocks(0.2 REM and 2.0 exp). If the miner broke 5 stone blocks, they would earn 1.00 REM and 10.0 exp. If the same miner placed 5 stone blocks, they would lose 1.00 REM and 10.0 exp. However, if the miner's friend, a builder, came along and used those stone blocks to make buildings in their town, then both the miner and the builder would be making money(miner makes money mining stone, builder makes money placing it).

A couple additions to this. If a player is both a miner and a builder, they will still get both effects from both jobs, and there's no way around this, therefore it's not recommended to multiclass in conflicting jobs. Also, having a builder friend place blocks for the miner friend to break is considered an exploit and will be dealt with when caught. Punishment includes reducing or zeroing the involved players' wallets, and if it is repeated or severe enough, ban(tempban or permaban depends on severity).

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

Petitions are here! If you have any issues, such as a griefing, some stealing, or would like a temporary cuboid for town claiming, please use a petition at the location of the situation. Do not spam/abuse the petitions program please, as that is considered spamming under da rules.

Have you ever wanted to re-live The End again and again? Well, now you can! Every 24 hours, The End will revert back to its default state, and between every 12 to 24 hours the enderdragon will make a re-appearance. Just hope it doesn't turn out to be an infernal dragon. That would be terrifying.

UPDATES

PETITIONS
-Submit petitions to report issues or request temporary cuboids
-'/pe' to see commands.
-To submit a new petition, go to where the situation is and type '/pe open your message'
-Spamming petitions is against the rules; instead, use /pe comment # additional comments', where # is your petition number
-Use '/pe view #' to view a specific petition of yours, or '/pe list [args]' to see all of them, where [args] refines the search(possible filters are listed when '/pe' is typed)

THE END
-The End refreshes every 24 hours
-Structures made in The End will be removed during that time, no exceptions
-Enderdragon spawns every 12 to 24 hours
-Dragon Egg will be awarded to whoever the best fighter was
-EXP will be divided amongst players involved, and each player's cut depends on their involvement

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

New players rejoice! Whitelisting is now automatic! We wish to have a more interactive version, but for now, guests only need to be logged into the server for 30 minutes to be promoted to member. Whitelisting on the forum(an if a staff member is online) will expedite this process.

While this update is happening, a new challenger approaches Dreamcraft...well, a lot of challengers. On your travels you will now encounter minibosses with various abilities. While their drops can be quite powerful, they are as well. Use caution when fighting these creatures!

UPDATES

GUESTS
-Whitelisting is now automatic, thanks to a couple new plugins
-More interactive features for guests to be introduced later on

MOBS
-Infernal miniboss mobs with varying abilities have been added
-For added mystery, the abilities will not be disclosed here. If you'd like to learn them all, then you'll have to do some super sleuthing

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

Tonight's big update is the introduction of three more plugins! I'm excited to announce that TreeAssist, LavaFurnace, and Runecraft have been added to the Dreamcraft repertoire. While TreeAssist and LavaFurnace aren't as much of mainstays as mcmmo or jobs, they offer convenience for woodcutting and smelting/cooking that we've never had before. Runecraft, on the other hand, will be big. As with any of the other new plugins, runecraft isn't something you'll need to use, but it will be very useful to you and will be integrated with many public/spawn areas.

Tutorials and guides will be added at a later date, but links will be provided here to get you acquainted with the usage.

UPDATES

TreeAssist
-Removing one of the bottom blocks on a tree will destroy the entire tree
-Requires an axe to work
-Durability and mcmmo will continue to work normally
-If you would like to disable treeassist, just type /treeassist toggle
-Small bug exists: depending on the tree layout, the entire tree may not be removed in one go
-Example video here.

LavaFurnace
-Requires specific layout to work (Example video here)
-Automated furnace using lava as fuel
-Fuel will only be used when an item is in the furnace
-Production chests are allowed; chest on left can hold fuel and items ready to go into the furnace, and the chest on the right is where the furnace deposits the finished products
-Protected and can only be used/destroyed by their creator

Runecraft
-Place combinations of blocks to create wards, tool enchantments, hexes, and more
-Disabled until the player interacts with an Initiation rune
-Currently, staff will bring players to the rune after they've shown they can be responsible
-ALSO currently, the rune is yet to be constructed, so no one has runecraft abilities....yet. Please be patient!
-Here is the runecraft wiki, although some are missing...
-Here is a list of the different tiers and blocks associated
-The youtube channel CtritheRunecrafter (current plugin author) has many video tutorials on using all the runes. Note, some of the more powerful runes are disabled (may be enabled for member+, but no confirmation on that)

Additional Updates
-Changed some lines to prevent zombies from attacking villagers

Nerfs to towny and jobs tonight
Posted by: Lostuser - 02-17-2014, 06:40 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

The defaults for jobs seem to be paying out more than anticipated and will be lowered tonight by a large amount. We want REM to actually have a bit of meaning on Dreamcraft. As always, prices and payouts are subject to change depending on what balances are needed.

Towny claims will also be raised, given how easy it will still be to raise money. We want towns to be an accessible purchase for individual players, but not so players can buy a town within the first day of playing. Nations are also able to be created, but are considered the highest achievement when it comes to town creation. As such, nations will be very expensive and will most likely require pooling money amongst friends.

Changes:
JOBS
-Set all payouts to 1/10th current

TOWNY
-Set new town to 30,000
-Set new nation to 500,000
-Set plot claim to 2,000

Exclamation Plugins to be added today, 2/16/2014
Posted by: Lostuser - 02-16-2014, 02:03 AM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

In an effort to expand to the Dreamcraft experience, we are adding a number of plugins to give players more to do. Over the course of this week, all of them will be added, but before that happens, we'll be adding three big ones: Towny, Jobs, and mcMMO. Below is some quick information on each. Dreamcraft-made tutorials will be added this week or next as well.

IMPORTANT NOTE: WITH THE ADDITION OF TOWNY, ALL TOWN CUBOIDS WILL BE DONE USING TOWNY(manual cuboids will still be done for temporary claims, public areas, and "landmark structures"). THIS MEANS THE CURRENT CUBOIDS WILL BE DELETED WITHIN A WEEK. PLEASE START SAVING UP TO CLAIM YOUR TOWN'S AREA.

Towny
-Players can make their own towns with '/town new townname'
-Towns are claimed by chunks(use '//chunk' to see which you're on)
-Deposit money in the town bank using '/town deposit amount'
-Claim adjacent territory using '/town claim' while on it
-Add members using '/town add playername'
-Towns currently cost 10,000 REM to settle, and 1,000 REM to claim each new chunk
-Video tutorial here

Jobs
-Type '/jobs help' for list of commands
-'/jobs browse' to look through available jobs
-'/jobs info jobname' to see how the jobclass earns exp and REM
-'/jobs join jobname' to pick a job
-Higher job level earns more REM
-Leaving a job resets your job level to 1
-Can have up to two jobs at once

mcMMO
-'/mcmmo help' for command list
-Level up skills to earn cool abilities
-Info on each skill can be found at the mcmmo wiki here
-create parties using the party commands under '/mcmmo help'
-Toggle partychat by typing '/p' or send one message to partychat by typing '/p Lost is so cool!'

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

Dreamcraft is fairly large. So large, you couldn't see all of it on the Dynmap at once. Not anymore! Experience what it's like to zoom all the way out and all the way back in! It's a Dreamcraft come true! The additional maps were disabled to preserve a bit of the mystery of the other worlds. Webchat was also disabled, so if you want to talk to the players in game, you're gonna have to log in or wait for IRC to start up.

Players also keep their experience on death now, so no more worrying about losing those 42 levels to a random creeper! Chat and sign colors were also added, as well as some special signs. More info on these another time.

UPDATES:
DYNMAP
-Disable webchat.
-Removed nether map and end map.
+Changed dynmap name for flat map and surface map to DC_Flat and DC_Surface, respectively.
+Can zoom out further.
+Name colors used.
+Hide while sneaking.
+Hide while under effects of invisibility potion.

PERMISSIONS
+Staff permission changes.
+Players keep their experience on death.
+Chat and sign colors and formats!
+Ability to create Mail signs added (place sign, type [Mail] on the first line, use as mailbox!).

+Quality-of-life changes to plugins.

Dream)Craft Official Announcement

While moving forward, Dreamcraft wants to enable you to do more, not less. With that in mind, we have enabled a few tools that were previously disabled due to fear of griefers. Along with enabling these tools, we want to remind everyone that we take griefing of any sort seriously(spamming, stealing, killing unknowing players) and have a "ban first, ask questions later" policy. If you find yourself wrongfully banned, remember to post a ban appeal here on the forums. Thanks!

I will also be listing changes made over the past couple weeks, for future reference.

UPDATES:
-Removed plugins that were causing massive latency, unused, or were just buggy. Plugins included were mobarena, war, horsetools, realisticbackpacks, permissionsigns, and chesscraft. Some will be re-added after bugs within the plugins are fixed.

+Lava flow is now enabled.
+Flint and Steel can now be used by all members.
+Fire Charges can now be used by all members.
+Placing lava can now be done by all members.
+Dispensers can now dispense all previously disallowed items.
+Updated the announcer plugin. Displays differently, less frequently, and has more messages.
+Made quality-of-life changes for the server and optimized main plugins.
