Posted by: ExceedSoul - 06-01-2015, 08:12 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Hello Dreamcraft!
This is an announcement in regards to nicknames and how they are used on the server. Nicknames will be soon removed for everyone on the server, they can cause some confusion to some players and staff. To avoid continued  confusion, nicknames will be removed on Dreamcraft, starting tomorrow, June 2nd. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

  Mojang downtime
Posted by: Oz-bar11 - 04-13-2015, 08:52 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Hey people,

Quote:From Mojang

In order to perform some much needed updates to our databases we have decided to schedule a maintenance session. It will take place Tuesday April 14 from 08:00 to 12:00 CEST (UTC+2).

During the maintenance period you will not be able to log in to Minecraft, Scrolls, or Cobalt. You will also not be able to join Minecraft servers (including Minecraft Realms). Most of our websites will also be unavailable. This does not affect Minecraft: Pocket Edition or the console editions of Minecraft.
We’re of course sorry about any inconvenience this may cause you. Rest assured that we would not be doing this unless it was absolutely necessary.

If you've logged onto DC between when I post this, but before the downtime, you'll still be able to log in during the downtime™.

  Establishing cities!
Posted by: ibwicked - 02-19-2015, 07:47 PM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Cities are a great thing to work towards - lets have a look at how to get one.

- Your city must be of appropriate size (Look at downtown spawn to get a general idea).
- You must have at least three members (Some exceptions may be made for particularly excellent or promising 2 person cities, but we would expect you to try find more members eventually).
- Must have a working chest shop (Five chests minimum - you can buy or sell anything but you must maintain your stocks/REM).
- Must have villagers (Two villagers minimum - living in, around, or under your city - and you must keep them alive).
- Must have a place for people to rent rooms (Two rooms minimum - hotel, apartments, bungalow, dank cellar, don't matter).
- You should already have a cuboid, but it's not required.
- It costs R50,000 to register a city.

City perks:
- A portal from spawn to your city.
- A nether portal, given a legitimate requirement and staff approval.
- The opportunity to establish a PVP arena, if approved by two staff.
- Hopefully more to come!

Tax credits!

Does R50,000 sound over budget? Finance department breathing down your neck? Tax credits could save your day.
A tax credit is something you can build or do to reduce the overall price of your city.

- Railway/subway station:
    - This station should extend to the edge of your cuboid so that other cities can attach to it.
It should have both a North-South and East-West tunnel/track. Building one will take R5000 off your city price.
- Staff AFK nook:
    - Somewhere nice for us staff to live when we're AFK!
Building one will take R500 off your city price.
- City noticeboard:
    - A large board in the middle of your city where you write down all the members of your city, recent and planned events, and anything else relevant.
This should be kept updated every week or so.
Building one will take R1000 off your city price.
- City forge and crafting area:
    - An appropriately decorated area or building in the center of your city that houses a few anvils, crafting tables, and furnaces.
Building one will take R2000 off your city price.
Including chests of common goods (wood, iron, stone) for your members to use will discount an additional R2000.
- Public farms:
    - A large, publicly accessible farm for weary travellers to resupply their food from.
Building one with only crops will take R2000 off your city price.
Building one with crops and animals available will take R3000 off your city price.
- Tavern:
    - A building that is appropriately constructed to resemble a tavern, and sells some kind of food/drink
      via chest shops.
As a bonus, taverns will slowly feed you when you stand in them.
Building one will take R2000 off your city price.
- Grand building:
    - A large, epic building that really makes your city amazing. This could be a huge cathedral,
or a great library, or a awesome maze.
Building an grand building in your city will take R5000 off your city price.
- Pictures on forum post:
    - Include several pictures on your cities forum post such as a screenshot from the map,
some pictures of your buildings, or even a photo of your members standing by the forge.
Including some pictures with your forum post will take R500 off your city price.
- Be connected to a large player run Stargate network:
    - Ask around to see who has a impressive Stargate network, or create one with prospective mayors!
Being part of a reasonable sized network of cities and estates will take R2000 off your city price.
- Beacon:
    - Build a beacon of any material that covers most of your city
Building a beacon will take R2000 off your city price.
- Have a good number of members! :
    - Any members over three will deduct R1000 per member, up to 5 additional members (R5000!)

Submit an approval request on the cities forum here and the staff will review your request. If it meets the requirements, you will be granted a city licence. The portal in spawn will be yours as long as you maintain the minimums of a city. If space is limited and you don't have a functioning city, your portal will go to the next city that has applied/approved.

If you've read through all of this, and decided to apply for a city, your application should look something like this, putting pictures where appropriate if you wish:

Name of city:
Owner (Or joint owners):
First DC map you joined (i.e. DC6 - the current map is DC9):
Members (You can only be a member of two cities):
Rough X and Z coordinates:
Theme (If any):
Which tax credits you are applying for:

City regulations and tax credits are subject to change.

  Spawn Player MiniMarket is Here!
Posted by: ibwicked - 02-17-2015, 12:07 AM - Forum: Announcements - No Replies

Greetings Programs...  Spawn Player MiniMarket is now open!

The market is located through either of the side doors in the below image, and then turning to the staircase marked "Market".

Players are now able to purchase stalls in the Mini Market inside Spawn Tower.  These are mini chest shops for players to buy and sell their items for REM.  There are three tiers of stalls:

1x1 - 5,000 REM
One chest, 1 item frame (including item for frame), 1 lantern, 1 advertisement sign, 1 info sign - at spawn
[Image: 8118bb8cba.jpg]

2x2 - 15,000 REM
Two chests, 2 item frames (including items for frames), 2 lanterns, 1 décor item (your choice), 2 advertisement signs, 1 info sign - at spawn
[Image: 77e8ba241b.jpg]

3x3 - 25,000 REM
Three chests, 3 item frames (including items for frames), 4 lanterns, upgraded décor, staired entrance, 2 floorplans to choose from, 3 advertisement signs (that you can arrange), 1 info sign - prime placement at spawn
[Image: 8eced5a02b.jpg]

- You may buy or sell any item(s) you choose in the provided chests.
- Stalls can be purchases from any online Mod.
- Stalls are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Stalls are transferable and sellable.
- You can only own one shop at a time.

Only 2x2 stalls are customizable for owners - as far as arrangement of chests/paintings/flowers/item frames/sign.  You can currently see an arrangement of sample choices.  However, 2x2 owners cannot rearrange their advertisement signs.

3x3 stall owners cannot arrange their chests/paintings/flowers/item frames/signs, but able to choose which paintings and flowers to decorate their shops with.  However, 3x3 owners can arrange their advertisement signs.

2x2 and 3x3 owners can also opt to have less paintings or flowers (or remove them all together).

These arrangement choices can only be made once, upon purchase.

You are responsible for maintaining the stocks in your store, if they are not restocked in a timely fashion - say a couple weeks and we notice you aren't managing your store (or a dead store that has obviously been abandoned), we will remove your chests and put the stall back up for sale.  Should a stall come up for sale, it will be auctioned off starting at $5K on the forums for 24 hrs - final bidding will be moved to chat if it comes down to a bidding war.

(These specifications are subject to change)

Anyone caught using hacks or mods to abuse the chest shops will be immediately banned, permanently...

  DC)9
Posted by: Oz-bar11 - 02-05-2015, 09:43 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (2)

Hear Ye Hear Ye...  Come one, come all, tell your friends, tell your family, DC9 is coming!

Sorry for the wait.

DC8 will become unavailable at about 10:00PM (GMT-8) on Friday the 13th of February (come kiss your builds goodbye before then!), and around midnight, DreamCraft will switch over to DC9! Just in time for those of you who don't have dates for Valentines - come spend National Singles Day with us as we open the doors to the new server!  We'll love ya just the same Wink .

We've been hard at work constructing a spawn for this map, and hope you'll like it. A bit of fine tuning may or may not exist by necessity for a short time after the launch, but I'm sure we'll all survive.

All your favorite plugins including but not limited to ChestShop, Stargate, LWC chest protection, and the dynamic map are all in, ready to go, along with all our grief protection.  And of course, we're all up to date with 1.8! All mcMMO stats will transfer over to provide some continuity, however in the interest of a truer fresh start, money will not. To make up for this, the starting balance will be raised from R100 to R5000 for the first week.

It's been a good run on DC8, it's lasted since about the third of February, last year. We truly appreciate all of you who continue to play on DC, and those who have committed countless hours in the past, and surely those who will commit countless hours in the future!

Stay tuned!

Did You Know: 1.8 has rabbits and underwater temples?

Lightbulb Come Visit the new PvP Arena!
Posted by: pickletoez - 06-08-2014, 12:31 AM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (2)

Official Announcement!

The long-awaited player versus player arena is now open!

Made by pickletoez, vadefac, Lord_kill_51, DragonBorn, and Rachel0d over three days, the Thunderdome features a small concession stand with appropriately inflated snack prices, a betting booth, and a spectator floor made of glass. The arena itself is styled so there are plenty of hiding places, water sources (pesky Fire Aspect enchantments!) and surveying spots

*SHOPS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE SPECTATOR FLOOR!* Talk to pickletoez in-game for more info.

Some Things:
  • You cannot type /home or /spawn while in the arena.
  • Don't kill people in the outer areas of the arena. Inside the playing field only!
  • Die, and you'll be teleported to spawn. You can come back to watch!
  • The stuff you drop is free for all, so only bring your weapons/armor.
  • No bows & arrows allowed! It's too overpowered.
  • Have fun!

There will be an official event somewhere in the next week- keep an eye out in the Contests & Events forum for a post from me. It will be streamed live on our Twitch channel by myself as well! For those interested, the event will be a pvp tournament with an AMAZING prize and induction into the Hall Of Fame as the first winner!

We don't need you to donate for this; just actively broadcast the server and you'll get the aforementioned rewards.

To join our YouTube/Streaming team, just post below with this format:

How long have you been here?

Not a YouTuber/Streamer?
That's fine! You can really help out in some other ways!

If you have graphic skills, make some DC banners, images, etc. and well take a look at em! Take some cool pictures in game! These all help!

If you don't know how to do that, you can help by telling your friends about DC. It may seem small but it's a MASSIVE help.

Thanks a Ton!

  Changes for 1.8!
Posted by: Echoic - 05-06-2014, 06:40 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (6)

So, we have decided that due to 1.8's new materials and the new map generation we are going to start a new map when we update. During this map change Jobs/McMMO levels, and REM will copy over, so you will not lose progress in that! Smile

There are a few other reasons we are starting a new map, as the people who play may know the server hasn't been the most active lately, and therefore we would like to make this a fresh start for advertising, and return DreamCraft to it's former popularity.

We are still discussing changes for the new map, and will be releasing more information as it becomes available!

Thanks for reading, and happy crafting Smile
(p.s. we still encourage playing on this map until the map reset, it helps build the community Big Grin)

  Dreamcraft updated!
Posted by: Oz-bar11 - 04-23-2014, 12:53 AM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (2)

Dreamcraft has been updated to 1.7.9, enjoy! Please report anything you notice gone wrong, because it can always happen! (And please, even if you just join and leave for a minute, do join the server - it's important for your playerdata in the future).

While the update went well for the most part, I did manage to temporarily destroy the dynamic map, which I seem to do every time.. It'll probably be back to normal by the time you read this, but just in case.

Thank you for your continued support, hopefully Dreamcraft will pick up again.
